Coins, Coins, Coins

So I've not been the best about keeping up with the blog in March. Partly to blame is the loss of our new camera for a time. The USB connection mysteriously stopped working and we ended up having to send it in under warranty to be repaired. But the biggest culprit has been a project I've been working on - selling a coin collection on Ebay.  Doug's parents often have estates from their clients that they need to sell. They happened to have a very large and valuable coin collection that they needed to liquidate. Since I had a great deal of experience selling on Ebay (I'd successfully sold 2 items -haha!), they asked if I would be interested in selling the coins for them.

It's been a learning experience! I've learned about coins, coin collectors, macro photography, Ebay, PayPal, the USPS and UPS.  I ended up selling over 500 coins. It's been a fun experience and while it's nice to have the collection gone, I'm willing to give it another go! If you have an Ebay question, I'm your gal. And I'll give you a "friends and family" discount on my commission...

Actually, here's the #1 lesson I've learned about coins - DO NOT EVER, EVER, EVER CLEAN THEM. EVER. They look pretty (see below) but you'll lose the majority of their value. You're welcome. :)

p.s. - no, I did not clean the coins myself, but found that the collector used silver polish on most of them. :(
