Coins, Coins, Coins
So I've not been the best about keeping up with the blog in March. Partly to blame is the loss of our new camera for a time. The USB connection mysteriously stopped working and we ended up having to send it in under warranty to be repaired. But the biggest culprit has been a project I've been working on - selling a coin collection on Ebay. Doug's parents often have estates from their clients that they need to sell. They happened to have a very large and valuable coin collection that they needed to liquidate. Since I had a great deal of experience selling on Ebay (I'd successfully sold 2 items -haha!), they asked if I would be interested in selling the coins for them.
It's been a learning experience! I've learned about coins, coin collectors, macro photography, Ebay, PayPal, the USPS and UPS.
I ended up selling over 500 coins. It's been a fun experience and while it's nice to have the collection gone, I'm willing to give it another go! If you have an Ebay question, I'm your gal. And I'll give you a "friends and family" discount on my commission...
Actually, here's the #1 lesson I've learned about coins - DO NOT EVER, EVER, EVER CLEAN THEM. EVER. They look pretty (see below) but you'll lose the majority of their value. You're welcome. :)
p.s. - no, I did not clean the coins myself, but found that the collector used silver polish on most of them. :(

Shark Tooth
Have you heard of this before? This weekend we noticed that one of C's permanent teeth was coming up behind one of her baby teeth.

A Snow Day
So far, we've had a REALLY mild winter. I am probably jinxing us by saying this, but it's true. Our January and February has felt more like spring than winter. Back in January, we had one real, good snow to play in, so we had to make the most of it.
We went sledding behind the school and even made a couple snowmen. By noon the next day they had melted, so I'm glad to took advantage of it while it lasted!

A Phineas and Ferb Birthday - Part One
For E's 5th birthday, she was allowed to invite 5 friends to her party. She chose 3 boys and 2 girls, so we had to find a theme that was gender-neutral. Phineas and Ferb was an easy choice. E loves the show's crazy inventions and messes that Phineas and Ferb make, plus the catchy original songs.
