The Easter bunny came early
and left some little surprises! At least, they certainly surprised me when I was cleaning out the garden this morning. There were 4-5 baby bunnies in the nest, and all but two hopped away. The kids have loved "loving" on the poor little ones who remained. We plan to release them in the woods across the street later today.

Has Sadie discovered them yet? Good thing Shasta's not around otherwise the dobermans would be eating bunny sushi.
As far as I know, all the bunnies have left the vicinity. Where they exactly...I try to not think about it. ;-) Luckily it never occurred to the girls to ask to keep one, although our neighbor's son really wanted to!
When Doug uncovered a nest last year, he just let it go. Then over the next week or so, I kept coming across dead little bunnies randomly strewn across the lawn. YUCK! That's why I wanted them out of the yard this time.
